Dear Ambassador,
Tier 4 (General) Visa
I am an architect pursuing MSc degree at University College London (UCL).
I understand and appreciate the requirements for Visa, though I do not meet the requirements.
XXXX Foundation granted me a scholarship in the amount of $$. I do not hold the remaining money for now. My father will be able to cover the rest of the tuition and maintenance fees during the late November - mid December.
If it is possible to make a Tier 4 visa application for not 12 months but 4 or 6 months, later I could apply for extending.
I would truly appreciate if you could give me a chance to attend to the program. It was hard for me to get into one of the world’s top universities. I passionately love and hope this obstacle will not be a problem to make my dreams come true.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely yours,

Hello name, I think that a better approach would be to state the exact issue, and your request to the ambassador in your first sentence. It is not clear exactly why you do not meet the Visa requirements. You must explain this very clearly in your letter so the ambassador's staff can determine what the options are.

  • I read between the lines that the Tier 4 Visa requires proof that you have funds to cover all your expenses for 12 months, and you only have enough for four months.
  • If you can only cover your expenses until December, that is not enough time to finish a MsC degree.

Thank you for your help. I have money only for 6 months, and my Sister will support with the remaining money, She has annual income from her enginering company, but I don't know how to proof it. If I could I won't write this letter.

Get your sister and father to write a testimonial, pledging to support your financial needs while you are in school.

Attach these letters to your letter to the ambassador. That will give them reason for granting an exception. Also have references for your sister and father (employers, banks, etc.) in case the embassy asks for them. Your sister's employer can provide a reference lette
