As yet

Who today remembers that gasoline originated as yet another invention in search of a use?

'As yet' can be a phrase, but here I think it should be an adverbial. Do you think so?

I would say it is adverbial, modifying the adjective 'another'.

'As yet' is not a phrase here. 'As' is a preposition, and 'yet' an adverb modifying 'another'.
