Again the following question was taken from a test but I can't understand why the testee has given "when" and "as" together among the choices. What do you think the answer is. I don't see a sound reason to prefere "a" over "c",

Someone knocked the door --- the students were studying.

No unfortunately "knocked the door" is not my mistake it is in the original question. And it sounds funny!

A preposition is needed; knock on/at the door. I think the preposition was inadvertently left out.

Well, that keyboard is part of my laptop. Occassionally one of the little tips will fall off or get twisted slightly so that its edge is under the edge of the adjecent key, making it hard to type on that one. When it gets bad enough I'll have Dell send me a new one, but I hate the 40-minute wait for their customer service.
