Hi everybody,The internet has forever changed the whole world in both positive and negative ways. The internet enables one to find information anytime of a day as well as provides convenience for activities like paying bills.Is it correct to bring a verb after "as well as" like above? Should I have written "providing" instead ?Thanks in advance.

Yes MIG, I have the same problem. I think you are probably right but What fivejedjon said is completely right as rules tell us !
I am really confused!

Anyway, what about this example?

I've just found this.

Verbs after as well as
When we put a verb after as well as, we most often use the–ing form.
He hurt his arm, as well as breaking his leg. (NOT … as well as broke his leg.)
If there is an infinitive in the main clause, an infinitive without to is possible after as well as.
I have to clean the floors as well as cook the food.

I think according to that site, your sentence is correct.

The internet enables one to find information anytime of a day as well as provides convenience for activities like paying bills.
It still remains a question for me! I think as fivejedjon said it is incorrect but I am in doubt !

Smoking is dangerous, as well as making you smell bad [NOT ...~~as well as it makes you smell bad~~)
