As usual early or as usually early?

Hi teachers,
Which one is correct in the following sentence? I think it is 'a' because 'early' is an adverb, isn't it?
a) as usually
b) as usual
She arrived at five to nine, ............. early.

Thanks in advance.

B is correct. As usual is a fixed expression. Incidentally, I think this is much more natural: She arrived at five to nine, early as usual .

Hi AG,
Thanks a lot for your reply. Then, 'Who is usually early at work?' is a good question based on that sentence?

I think it is. Will it also be correct to say, Who is usually early for work?'

Hi, TS,

They’re both possible. I prefer for.

- He’s usually early for work
- Who is usually early for work?

I can’t think of another context in which this question would be practical or very likely, and I don’t think it would be very useful in testing listening/reading comprehension or grammar.
