as to/so as to + a question

1. I'm not sure which one is the right one:

I'll try to be more concise as to not miss the point of it...

or:

I'll try to be more concise so as to not miss the point of it...

2. I can't figure out the meaning of the phrase "as far as this is a (etc.)". Does it mean "although" or "because"?

YaelI'll try to be more concise as to not miss the point of it... Wrong, because it's awkward. "As to" means with a reference. i.e. : "I amn't going to tell you anything as to my past".
I'll try to be more concise so as not to miss the point of it... It's OK.

I read it in this sentence, which was written by an Israeli blogger who's living in the US (so it may be wrong):
"as far as this is a personal blog, I think it's important to remember that I too have some periods of non-intelligence"

The more usual expression, to my ear, is
Insofar as this is a personal blog, ...
which means since, as, or because, roughly.
