As to be

Hi,

I am reading a novel, and I am not sure what the phrase means.

It says," There comes a time when our personal calling is so deeply buried in our soul "as to be" invisible."

Does "as to be" means "like", so the sentence says our personal calling is like invisible in our soul?

Can you give me some examples on how to put this phrase in sentences?

thanks

I would rephrase it as follows:

There comes a time when our personal calling is so deeply buried in our soul that it is invisible."

or

There comes a time when our personal calling is so deeply buried in our soul that it becomes invisible.
