as time goes by

Hi,

Say, I was 10 when I was very small but "as time went by" I grew up very tall especially when I became 20.

Is this correct sentence? Can you use the "as time go by" here to indicate that certain times have passed.

Thanks in advance.

It would be better, VC, if you composed the precise sentence that you want analyzed and include it as a separate statement, rather than including it in your conversation. It is sometimes difficult to decide what part you are concerned about. You overuse 'say', for instance.

Thanks for the reply and thanks for your advice too, Mr.MM . I will use parenthesis next time to reduce any possibility of making sentences unclear.
