A: The Bank is a person, so perhaps should not be regarded as inanimate.
B: Surely The Bank is an institution/company, not a person, and as such, it is inanimate.
A: It's a legal person and as such can be thought of as the officers or employees of the bank.

I'd like to know what meaning "as such" was used as in the conversation above.
