as soon as

I know "...as soon as..." has a general meaning of "...the moment that...", but how would this interpretation fit in this sentence:

"I'd as soon as not remember the sound I made". This sentence doesn't make sense to me.

I went looking in the Corpora, using as soon as not as my search term. Ignoring non-matching contexts, GloWbe has three hits, two of which seem to match your interpretation and one appears to match mine. COHA has three hits, all of which seem to match my interpretation.
