As plain as

"That's a pack of lies," said the Egg Man, "because I saw him yesterday morning as plain as you please and he had a hen tucked under each arm."
I saw the above in my son's reading book.
What does "as plain as you please" mean? What sort of structure is this?
What does "tucked" mean here? Tucked=hide?

"As adjective as you please" means " adjective to whatever great extent you might like to imagine", used jocularly. As for "tucked", not hidden but secure.

I saw him yesterday morning quite plainly (plainly ~ clearly)

(No one could doubt that I saw him.)
