As per

I was wondering when is it appropriate to use "as per" and just "per". Do you always have to say "as" per or can per be used alone without the word as?

Just based on experience, "per" would be "by authority of" and "as per" would be "as shown on."

"This is to be effective immediately, per the Director."

"Quantities should be proportioned as per the table on page 75."
