As of/As from...(tomorrow, today, next month, etc.)

Hello,

Some dictionaries list them as synonyms but they seem to be used differently. Can both of them be used in the sentences below?

- As.......6th of May, all gifts to charities will be free of tax.

- As.......next month, all the airline's fares will be going up.

- As.......today, you are in charge of the office.

I think "As from today" might sound okay, but for all the rest I'd choose "As of", I don't know why.

Thank you.
