What does the as of mean in following sentences please?

I don't think 'from' is very close in meaning to 'as of'.

The words mean that whatever else is mentioned in the sentence may have been true at the 'as of' time, but are not necessarily true now., in my opinion.

5jj, wouldn't you say that in BrE, 'as of' means exactly the same as 'as from', so that both expressions essentially amount to 'from'?

OK "fivejedjon", you opened the issue in more deeply manner but now I can't find an substitute for the "as of" in the mentioned sentences. For example if you want to replace the "as of" in below sentences, you replace them by what word(s)?

I would not wan to replace the words 'as of' in your examples.
