1) As much as anyone, I loved him.


Could this mean:

a) I loved him as much as I loved anyone.

or does it just mean:

b) I loved him as much as anyone did.

As much as anyone, I loved him.

It is unclear which is meant. You could read it either way. I suspect that the writer wanted to say that he was loved and I also loved him. But the wording is ambiguous.
