As long as/while

You can use my computer, as long as you are careful with it.

If 'as long as' was replaced with 'while' as this, would it still work?

You can use my computer, while you are careful with it.

Could you tell me what's wrong with the while-version, MM?

It sounds awkward and changes the meaning.
If you want to use while to give a similar meaning, you could for example write:

Be careful with my computer while you use it. Or:
Be careful while you use my computer. Or
While using my computer, be careful.
