I would like to know the answers for the following questions:
1) Are the following sentences correct?
If I were a UK nationalist, I would say that as a UK driver… If I were not a UK nationalist, I would say that like a UK driver…
2) I think when we combine a real situation with an imaginary situation (using ‘as if’) the verbs in both clauses must be past simple? Are the following sentences correct?
He played well as if he was a talented player. He plays well as if he was a talented player. He is playing well now as if he was a talented player.
Is ‘were’ possible in the place of ‘was’?
