As (it is) adjective

1. I thought the car is expensive as it is mentioned in the advertisement.

2. I thought the car is expensive as is mentioned in the advertisement.

3. I thought the car is expensive as mentioned in the advertisement.

Q1) Given sentences 2, 3, which sentence has the same meaning of 1?

I think 1 and 2 means the same thing and 1 and 2 don't make much sense, unlike 3.

Q2) Don't 2 and 3 mean the same thing?

These are all poor sentences, and not worth caring about.

With "thought", we expect "I thought the car was expensive

There are many better ways to say what I think you're trying to say.

The car looked expensive in the advertisement.
I thought the car was expensive because of the way it was advertised.
Considering the way it was presented in the advertisement, I thought the car would be expensive.
