As is

I encountered an error while I was playing a video via a media player.
The player said : "Because the file is broken, seeking won't work correctly, what do you want to do?, play as is or don't play?"
My question is not whether should I play it or not, of course, but why the player said "Play as is, instead of "Play as it is"?
