as if/as though

Hi,

1) Should all sentences that contain an "as if" or "as though" phrase be construed as being in the subjuctive mood?

2) How would you evaluate the Googling search results that seem to show plenty cases where those sentences with the "as if" or "as though" phrase do not appear to meet the conditions for the subjunctive? Are they all incorrectly written sentences?

3) If they are not, can you give me a few sentences where sentences with an "as if" or "as though" phrase are not in the subjunctive mood?

Thank you.

as if (or as though) as would be the case if: she behaved as if he weren't here. (oxford american dictionary)

whatever follows "as if" is not true, not the case, counter factual.
