As if

Hello,

Is my sentence proper?

If an egg is removed while she is rolling it back to her nest, she continues pulling her head back as if an imaginary egg is still under her beak.

Thank you for your response.

I would use a more 'scientific' verb, and 'were' not 'is' (Conditional II): If an egg is removed while she is rolling it back to her nest, she continues drawing her head back as if an imaginary egg were still under her beak.
