As if

Hi,

Context: I've learned English for a few years, and it doesn't show in my writing because it is usually fraught with all kinds of mistakes conceivable.

Which, if any, of the following is correct?

I hope to write as if I've learned English for a few years.

I hope to write like a person who's learned English for a few years.

Thanks in advance

Hi, both of yours are grammatically ok, in my opinion. Maybe I would personally tend to use the continuos tense and say something like "I hope to write like someone who's been learning English for a few years already".

Thanks! But would any of my sentences mislead people into thinking that I haven't learned English for a few years and simply wish to progress faster?

Yes, I think so. It sounds like you want your English to be decent even though you have not been studying it long enough. You had to add the context to tell us that the truth was different:
