Sorry, I am not applying jobs in the chemical industy.

The original phrase in my application letter is statistical theory.

I am applying for a position of analyst at government statistic department.

We will use some statistical software to, for example, predict future inflation.
To achieve this, I need to input some statisical formulae into the software.
So, I need to understand those theories, and apply them on work.
