When the sentence starts with “as...as”, do you need a comparative form in the second clause? What goes in the second clause?
I know this is correct :
As good as the team was in the first half, it wasn’t better than its opponent.
Would these be correct? How would you construct the second clause?
As good as the team was in the first half, it has been that bad in the second half.
As good as the team was in the first half, it has been as bad in the second half.
