Liveinjapan The politician made a slip of the tongue when he said the Diet was as good a place to take a nap as on the train. The sentence is fine, but I don't get the joke! Is the term religious or political here?

Okay, it's a Japanese legislative body. It seems like a perfectly natural sarcasm to me. (It sounds intentional.)

I'm sorry I haven't been able to come up with examples of what I consider true slips of the tongue.
(I came across a couple that were obscene.)

I hope you understand that in my opinion your example was not a slip of the tongue,
but an intentional, clever (albeit sarcastic) remark intended to disparage the workings of the diet. - A.

Yes, I understand. It is not a true slip.
