What is the difference between As for now vs as of now?

The toy you have may not be very useful for in the future, but as for now, I need it urgently.

As of now I am sleeping on the bed

Ok thanks. can I replace as for now with for now? If I do does that come up with any new meaning or it will still sound the same?
