Hello,
I've got a question about "as for", e.g. "be dependent on, as for support or maintenance ..." (thefreedictionary.com).
Can I use it then in a sentence like: "recover from, as for an illness" or perhaps I should use "recover from, as from an illness"?
Thank you
"be dependent on, as for support or maintenance" embeds the examples "be dependent on for support" and "be dependent on for maintenance". In the same way, "recover from, as for an illness" and "recover from, as from an illness" would yield, respectively, "recover from for an illness" and "recover from from an illness", which are both incorrect, as you will be able to see. The correct form with "as" would be "recover, as from an illness".
