As far as preposition

Can you tell me how to use as far as in sentences?

1. How big was this win as far as boosting your confidence.
2. Its a good job by you as far as chasing them off the line
3. You have to make sure you know what you are doing as far as...
4. As far as her daughters, she doesn't spend enough time with them.

5. They have big shoes to fill as far as their mother taking care of them.

In my opinion, the usage is casual. " #5 makes no sense to me. I'm not sure what you're trying to say.

In my opinion, the usage is casual.
"Far" describes distance, so the formal usage would be "as far as something goes," or "as far as something is concerned."

Another formal alternative is "in terms of." Eg, "It's a good job by you (on your part) in terms of chasing them off the line."

"As far as her daughters are concerned, she etc."

#5 makes no sense to me.
