As far as mechanical terms are concerned, I would like to ask a question.

Hello.

A motor and a engine have a tolerance.

When the motor and engine are operated out of the tolerance those parts would be damaged or get a problem.

In this case, what words should i choose between "strain" and "stress" and "load"?

when the motor is excessively used it will be strained/loaded/stressed.

when the motor is excessively used it will be overstrained/overloaded/overstressed.

Which kind of word should i go for? and What is the difference?

Is there any mistakes in my above sentences?

Thank you for your help.

Motor can be used for both piston engine and for electric motors. The word engine is normally used only for steam or gas or diesel powered motors, like you have in most cars or trucks. Engines have tolerances between their parts, but you don't normally speak of a motor having tolerance.

  • Excessively used doesn't work out well.
  • Choose either run for a long time and worn out (over worked), or run very hard for an (assumed) shorter time period.
