I regard it as correct.
I regard it as being correct.

PL, you asked me to comment, but I'm afraid I'm not sure either. I would hazard a guess that "as" is a preposition in the second sentence.

On the basis that "as" seems like a preposition in "I regard it as a nuisance", and "as" in "I regard it as correct" seems to have such a a similar role, I would almost like to say it is a preposition there too, but of course it is a problem that "corr
