As best

Is "as best" considered correct in the following sentence? I work as best I can. Should it be, "I work as well as I can", or "I work the best I can"? I would never say, "I run as fastest I can" or "He sings as loudest he can".

The meaning is different. "As best I can" implies that something is impeding you. "The best I can" is more like "I do my best", meaning you strive to perform as well as possible.
