Hello. Please look at these sentences.

1. You have to study as hard as she does.

2. She got up as early as her mother.

Why doesn't the second sentence have "did"?

Do I need to say "does" in the first sentence?

Yes. But if you wanna avoid it transform the sentence (You have to study as hard as her).
