Hello. Are the following sentences correct?

The weather is as cold as I'm about to freeze to death.

The weather is so cold that I'm about to freeze to death.

The weather is so cold as I'm about to freeze to death.

Only the middle one is correct- "The weather is so cold THAT I'm about to freeze to death."

In the first sentence, recognize "is as [cold] as" is making a comparison.. The weather is as cold as ice. The weather is as cold as being in Antarctica. The weather is as cold as a winter day on Pluto. You need to finish the comparison before you can continue with a declaration ["...and I'm a

Thanks, I thought the same. But I think I heard someone said it. ( Of course that does not mean it's right.)

Anyway, is there any other sentence which has the same meaning as the 2nd sentence?
