As an interest

Hi everybody,

I would like to ask for your help in an easy question. I'm curious about whether the following sentence is correct or not:

'As an interest I read over your profile, too'

I say 'as an interest', because it is in addition to something else.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

My other question is: could I continue an arbitrary sentence after 'too' in such a sentence like the previous one (e.g.: 'As an interest I read over your profile, too and I was pleased with your company').

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

My third question: Is 'I was pleased with sg' correct? I would like to express: 'it satisfy me' .

I would appriciate any help. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

You could also say

eg 'Because it interested me, I read over your profile, too.'

Clive,

I would like to know why it is not 'it satisfies me' here?

Hi,

I would like to know why it is not 'it satisfies me' here?

'Satis' is a Latin word for 'enough'. The basic idea of 'satisfy' is 'do enough', 'meet a need or expectation'.

eg The large dinner satisfied my hunger.

Thank you Clive for your effort.

My question was just about subject-verb agreement.

Since it is satifies with it I was wondering why it was satisfy.

Hi,

Something that is satisfying is not really the same as something that is interesting.

If you would like to discuss this further, please offer a full sentence for discussion.

Hi Clive,

My third question: Is 'I was pleased with sg' correct? Yes I would like to express: 'it satisfy me' .

This has been taken from a previous post in this thread.

Since the subject is it I think the correct form of satisfy is satisfies.

Hi,

Yes, the correct grammar is 'It satisfies me'.

I wouldn't say that 'It saitisfies me ' and 'It pleases me' mean exactly the same thing.
