As a result of vs resulting

Can someone verify whether my analysis (Text on red) are correct:

1. The creatures of the seabed were suffering from dwindling food supplies, possibly resulting from increasing sea surface temperatures during the same period.

possibly resulting from..... is an adverbial modifier thus implies the suffering resulted from the increasing sea surface temperature...but Sentence should say food supplies were dwindling coz of increasing sea temperatures...

2. The creatures of the seabed were suffering because food supplies were dwindling, possibly as a result of an increase in sea surface temperatures during the same period.

Possibly as a result of is a prepositional phrase ,which acts as an adverbial modifies , implying food supplies were dwindling as a result of increase in sea surface temperature....Looks Good

3. The creatures of the seabed were suffering because of food supplies, which were dwindling possibly as a result of increasing sea surface temperatures during the same period.

Sentence implies creatures were suffering from food supplies ...since rest of the other information is in non restrictive clause....which is nonsensical ..

4. The creatures of the seabed that were suffering from food supplies that were dwindling, possibly resulting from an increase in sea surface temperatures during the same period.

Sentence implies creatures were suffering from food supplies .....which is nonsensical ..

Thank you
