My friend asks how my mom is doing. I say:

She's good and well, as a matter of fact I'm seeing her tomorrow.

What about: My mom is alive and well, thank you very much, as a matter of fact I'm seeing her tomorrow.

That's okay, but is there a particular reason to assume that she might not be alive?
