Hello everybody.

I have two questions.

First, what does' held' mean in the following

I don't hold an ounce of confidence in paranormal as a held.

Does it mean a technique?

Second, what is an eve- inch instrument?

Each victim was killed by a puncture wound at the skull inflicted by an eve- inch instrument.
