"As a doctor, cleanliness is important"

Greetings,

I know that when a sentence begins with "As a doctor," (or "As a doctor with a nice haircut,") the next word should be a pronoun or a proper name referring to someone who is a doctor. E.g. "As a doctor, I recognize the importance of cleanliness." Despite the fact that the media bombards us regularly with examples like the one in my Subject line above, I am still able to sleep nights. Okay, most nights...

My question is: what are the parts of this sentence?

"As a doctor, I recognize the importance of cleanliness."

Thank you,
