"as"?

Hi guys, I have this question in my English homework and am unsure if "as" should be used. If someone can pls help and teach me the rules as to when "as" should be used in a sentence?

All students are required to comply with the rules determined by the school, or All students are required to comply with the rules as determined by the school.

Thanks

'as' is optional in your sentence. I would omit it. rules determined by the school ~ those rules which are determined by the school rules as determined by the school ~ those rules which are now determined or which may be determined in the future by the school With 'as' there is a sense of "Keep posted", "Keep checking those rules because they may change over time".

  • 'as' is optional in your sentence.
  • I would omit it.

  • At least that's how I hear it.
