0In this example, we can think of "as" to mean "since" (Since he was not well...)02br
00I think "since" is stronger though. "Given that" is also used, and I think it is a closer match. In this context, I use "Since" 99%, "As" or "Given that" 1% and maybe even less. I don't recall ever using them. 0-
