Articles: Time is the best cure for a/the broken heart.

Hello.

Which of the sentences below is correct / would you choose, and why?

1) Time is the best cure for a broken heart.
2) Time is the best cure for the broken heart.

For me, the second one suggests that the author speaks about some specific broken heart (for example about his listener's heart), but I am not sure whether this also might mean a general statement.
