Articles; selection error?

Hi, my explanations may be hard to understand though,
do you carelessly mistake in selecting a/an or the?

You and your friend share a certain Word file.
You both know that there's an error in a sentence in the file.
You write like,
'It is the error made by the writer.'
In this case you should use 'the', but you wrote mistakenly:
'It is an error made by the writer.'
After that, you reread the email, you notice the mistake.

Could this or similar case sometimes happen?

All kinds of errors are possible..
No, the error in the sentence is made by another person, not you or your friend. Sorry.

Oh really, I got it. Have you, too?

SupercatYou both know that there's an error in a sentence in the file. You write like,
I write:
There is an error in this sentence.
You / I made the error, so [you] / [I'll] fix it.

The original author made the error, but we can fix it like this: ....

AlpheccaStars I write:There is an error in this sentence. You / I made the error, so [you] / [I'll] fix it.
Ahh..sorry for confusing. That is not the first time that you and your friend talk about the error. You both have already talked and know about it.
But in the email you are talking about it, you wrote mistakenly: It is an error made by.., instead of

That's what I would write in most cases. But it depends on the surrounding text.

Oh really, thank you! Then that's not my error lol!
That's what I did with my friend: I used the subject 'you' in my posts but the all should be 'I' (Supercat).
