Articles before languages.

Hi there!

I want to know whether we use the definite article before languages. Are the following phrases correct?

British English. ( no article);

The English language ( The definite article is used because it refers to the word language)

Both of your examples are correct. We do not use articles for languages themselves, but we do often use articles for the word "language."
