I assume that all sentences are statements about things not mentioned before (otherwise most places where you have an indefinite article it could be definite instead, e.g. "The unhappy man started crying" if we already know about the man).

The sentences are apparently not written by a native speaker, and some of them are slightly odd and/or contain errors unrelated to the exercise.
