Could anyone enlighten me about the correct articles for the cases mentioned below?

When talking about tenses, what articles should I use in front of "past tense, present tense, etc..."? (or should I leave out the articles?)

When talking about the definite and indefinite article, should I use "the" or "an/a" or no article at all?

Thanks a lot for your opinions.

Usually it would be "the past tense", "the present tense", etc. Also, usually "the definite article" and "the indefinite article".
