Hello,
I have noticed that very often the word 'of' is preceeded by the article 'the' (for example the roof of the house)
I would like to know whether it is always the case.
In the following sentences is 'the' ok?
1. The book describes the problems of prisoners.
It's the first sentence of my essay; I haven't mentioned anything about these problems and these prisoners yet.
The same situation:
2. The book describes the problems of the prisoniers of a concentration camp.

Can we say that ever time there is the word 'of' we can use 'the', even though we have mentioned something the first time, or the person we are talking to doesn't know what we are speaking about?

Thank you for your help!
Annie
