More natural is Have you had (a, the)_chance to correct the errors?

My first guest was that 'the' was the only possible answer on the basis that the specific 'chance' has been spoken about earlier. Although 'chance' was not mentioned the prior day, the creation of 'chance' was implied. On the other hand, I was thinking 'a' is not possible because it is not the first time it is spoken of.
