hello to teacher ,i was doing an excercise on http://a4esl.org/q/h/9901/cw-articles.html i have few problems in question 3 .why it is suggesting as d but i think the answer should be option a ,please guide methanks

Answer (d) is correct. You may find out too late that health clubs aren't for you.

Answer (a) will give you, You may find out too late that a health clubs aren't for you. "a" is used with a singular subject and verb, but "clubs aren't" is plural.

Note that when we change the noun from singular to plural, the adjective does not change, but we do drop the article.

I like to drive a fast car. (The adjective "fast" doesn't change, but the article "a," which goes before the adjective, does change. It disappears.)

I like to drive fast cars.

Note that when the subject is singular the verb must be singular. When the subject (noun) is plural we must change the verb to plural.

A slow car isn't for me.

Slow cars aren't for me. (NO ARTICLE)
