Articled for places and commercial stores

Hi,

I am having some difficulties with putting "the" in front of various public or private places, like

"Fashion Bug store", "Town Express Mart", and "John's store".

Please give me a website or your help here.

Use the if it is a part of the name or if the modified noun is not part of the name: I hear that the Fashion Bug store is having a sale. ( the is the determiner for store ) Fashion Bug is having a sale. (no The in store's name) The Fashion Bug is having a sale.

  • Use the if it is a part of the name or if the modified noun is not part of the name: I hear that the Fashion Bug store is having a sale.
  • ( the is the determiner for store ) Fashion Bug is having a sale.
  • (no The in store's name) The Fashion Bug is having a sale.
  • ( The is part of store's name)

00Maybe I am going over board with this but since I still am not very clear on this, let me give you several store names that appear on their signs and p/s tell me whether or not you would put "the " in front, based on a model sentence.02br

0Thank you again, but let me adhere to 01u00your02u00 original grammartical guidance that said "01u01font00Use "the" if it is a part of the name or if the modified noun is not part of the name,"02font02u00 and change the model sentence like yours, 01i00I hear that 01i00____________02i

0Well, you didn't capitalize, so I took them as common nouns. And now that I look at it, I'd put 01i00the02i00 in brackets before 01i00Princess02i00 too. The 01i00the'02i00s seem to depend on whether it is a place both speaker and listener are already aware of.02br
