Essay & Composition Writing

Article writing

Hello!
Recently I have been asked to write an article about an online service. I have never written articles before, and I would be happy if someone could say if the article is well-structured, easy-to-read and understand and interesting. What needs to be corrected and how to improve styling.

Thanx a lot

Onwebinar.com - learn anything, anywhere, anytime?

We need to move beyond the idea that education is something that is provided for us, and toward the idea that an education is something we create ourselves.
George Siemens - a theorist on learning in a digitally-based society.

As the internet revolution continues to increase in influence on every sphere of our lives, it is going to have a serious impact on teaching and learning as well. A new social service for knowledge and experience exchange that can be referred as an interactive knowledge sharing community launched lately seems to be another proving of the trend.

The project called OnWebinar.com is a global online marketplace for educational service providers. The website offers free tools for organizing web-conferences, distance learning, online coaching in virtual classrooms with whiteboard, slide show presentation, desktop sharing area, files and links roll, polls and video conferencing.

Designed as a platform for tutors, professors, professionals and anyone who is able and willing to teach and share their knowledge with those who want to learn online, the project aims at building an open community of people who are interested in personal and professional growth and a new educational service - online social University.

Currently tutors, professors, experts or anyone who has valuable knowledge and experience and is willing to share it with other learners can register with the website free and start their teaching activity.

"We believe it is knowledge and skills that are of a significant value, not the technology, and those who are ready to teach their experience to other people should have an opportunity to do it free, says Michael Savin - CEO of Onwebinar.com.

A new service is based on peer-to-peer network technology which allows for broadcasting webinars to an audience of several hundreds or even thousands of people in real time mode.

The founders of the project are convinced that learning is individual. Given necessary tools learners can and will do the rest. "Alike students and professors, but not the books and libraries birth the spirit of the University; it is the community of users that defines success or failure of a project" - continues Mr. Savin.

As the community of users grow the collective knowledge database will expand enabling tools that might affect or even significantly transform approach to searching for information and research. Searching for information in an interactive knowledge sharing environment unlike using search engines and online encyclopedias is not limited to browsing text and media content. Answers to any questions can be found through attending relevant webinars, virtual lectures, joining discussions, or through consultation in a video-conference room with an expert in their field.

Onwebinar.com seems to offer an innovative environment combining learning , communication, sharing and collaboration and pursuing the concept of life-long education and open educational recourses.

Wikipedia has shown that the wisdom of crowds is just as good as the wisdom of elites. Let's see if Onwebinar.com will be able to prove that educating in virtual environment is as good as educating in traditional classrooms.
